Job Title: GCSE English Tutor
(we also have opportunities for GCSE Maths Tutors)

Location: Manchester / Home online delivery initially due to Covid – Must be flexible with travel as measures ease and face to face delivery is allowed
 
Salary: £24,000 – £33,000

Package includes: Excellent holiday entitlement, Business Mileage, Pension + much more
 
Type: Full time and Part Time (Permanent) opportunities available
 
Duties:

  • Deliver GCSE English up to level 2 online and in a classroom-based setting as required, to learners undertaking NCFE level 3 qualifications.
  • Identify any barriers to learning and plan effective training based on individual learner needs.
  • Deliver consistent high quality and engaging lessons.
  • Support and motivate learners to progress and achieve their full award.
  • Identify learner’s strengths and weaknesses through initial assessment and support them accordingly.
  • Provide progress feedback to learners and provide support to ensure they meet their set goal / target.
  • Ensure each learner’s progression is recorded efficiently.

Essential Criteria:

  • Hold a Level 3 teaching qualification as a minimum (PTLLS/AET or equivalent) as a minimum.
  • Recent experience of teaching GCSE / Functional Skills English at level 2
  • Must have experience of delivering to groups / classroom-based setting.
  • Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.
  • Flexible to work evenings to fit around learners’ availability.
  • Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate young people.
  • Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.
  • Must be flexible with travel.
