Lead IQA / Assessor – Residential Childcare Full Time Permanent

Job Title: Lead IQA / Assessor – Residential Childcare

Location: Hertfordshire

Salary: £29,000 – £31,000 (Dependent on qualifications and experience)

Type: Full time, FTC (2 years maternity cover)

Essential Criteria: 

• Recognised Internal Quality Assurance award (D34, V1, IQA, TAQA L4).
• Recognised Assessor Award (A1, D32/D33, TAQA, CAVA)
• Experience of working as an Assessor and IQA within Residential Childcare to level 5 (Level 2/3 Residential Childcare and Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare level 5) – Standards.
• Working knowledge of quality improvement processes and Ofsted requirements.
• Experience of overseeing and providing feedback and support to a team of Assessors.
• Must hold relevant occupational competency within Residential Childcare.
• Full, clean, UK driving licence and use of a vehicle.
• Must be flexible with travel.

IQA duties:

• Internal Verification / Quality Assurance of Residential Childcare Apprenticeships up to level 5 (Level 2/3 Residential Childcare and Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare level 5) – Standards.
• Oversee and provide support and feedback to a team of Assessors, ensuring quality of delivery and best practice is maintained.
• Ensure Assessors maintain up to date experience, qualifications and CPD.
• Responsible for evaluating quality processes to ensure consistency and accuracy across sampling and assessment strategies. 
• Responsible for arranging EQA visits and support with implementing recommendations. 
• Drive and promote continuous quality improvement and outstanding teaching and learning.
• Transition of the Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification from paper-based to digital. 
• Ensure achievement of targets.

Assessor duties:

• Assess and support learners working towards Apprenticeships in Residential Childcare up to level 5 (Level 2/3 Residential Childcare and Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare Level 5)
• Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely assessments and reviews are conducted.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.
