National Minimum Wage Increase – April 2018

The National Minimum Wage is the UK’s pay structure which is designed to protect as many low paid workers as possible without hurting jobs or the economy. The government has announced that from 1st April 2018 the UK National Minimum Wage will rise:

Apprentice Minimum Wage*: £3.70 per Hour increasing 20p from £3.50 per hour

Under 18 Minimum Wage: £4.20 per hour increasing 15p from £4.05 per hour

18 to 20 Minimum Wage: £5.90 per hour increasing 30p from £5.60 per hour

21 to 24 Minimum Wage: £7.38 per hour increasing 33p from £7.05 per hour

25 and over Minimum Wage: £7.83 per hour increasing 33p from £7.50 per hour

*Apprentices are entitled to the Apprentice rate if they are under 19 or aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship
