Shadow CEO appointed for the Institute for Apprenticeships

The Department for Education announced on the 26th September 2016 that Peter Lauener has been appointed as the Shadow CEO for the Institute for Apprenticeships. Peter will fulfil his role as Shadow CEO alongside his duties as Chief Executive of the Skills Funding Agency and Education Funding Agency.

Peter will bring to the Institute for Apprenticeships his experience and knowledge of the Apprenticeship and Skills sector from various senior level roles across the sector including his role as CEO of the Young People’s Learning Agency that he set up in 2010.

Peter will work together with Antony Jenkins (Shadow Chair) and other members of the team to establish the Institute for Apprenticeships, which will be the organisation to approve all Apprenticeship Standards and Assessment plans, ensuring that all Apprenticeships going forward are high quality and employers are getting the skills and experience expected from Apprenticeships.
